What is a safety plan?
A safety plan is a set of actions or plans that are designed to help lower your risk of harm, or the threat of future harm by an abusive partner, family member or other perpetrator. It includes information specific to your life and circumstances, that will help to increase overall safety at home, school, school, in the community, and in other places you may go in your daily life.
Making a Safety Plan
Trained advocates will ask a series of questions to help gauge safety needs and help you identify your potential safety options. Like all Someplace Safe services, safety plans are kept confidential. Clients and survivors should only share details the of their safety plans with trusted family, friends for support systems. Safety plans may change with time as circumstances change.
