Legacy and Planned Giving Options
Legacy giving and planned gifts enable individuals to make a sustaining gift to Someplace Safe, ensuring a safer, healthier future for victims, survivors, and families.
Please consider making a lasting gift to Someplace Safe by including us in your future financial planning. Leave a legacy for tomorrow by considering one of the planned giving opportunities below.
Bequests
This method of charitable giving in which individuals include provisions in their wills or estate plans to leave a specific amount of money, property, or assets to a charitable organization or cause upon their passing. It is a way for individuals to make a lasting impact and support causes they care about, even after they are no longer present.
You may make a bequest in your will by using the sample wording below. You may share the following statement with your estate planning attorney or add it to your will or living trust:
“I, (name), of (city, state, ZIP),give, devise and bequeath to Someplace Safe, (written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property) for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
Life Insurance
Life insurance giving to charity refers to a method of philanthropy where individuals designate a charitable organization as the beneficiary of their life insurance policy. Instead of leaving the benefit solely to their heirs, policyholders can choose to allocate a portion or the entirety of the insurance proceeds to support a charitable cause or organization upon their passing.
Or, in the event you have whole life policy that is no longer needed for its original purpose, such as paying off a mortgage or providing financial security for dependents. You may make a change in the beneficiary so that Someplace Safe receives the benefit of that policy.
Retirement Plan
Consider leaving a percentage of your retirement assets, such as a 401(k), IRA, or pension, to Someplace Safe.
Unlike family members, Someplace Safe would receive the full value of your retirement plan assets. If you are determined to avoid taxes altogether on your retirement plan assets, you may choose to donate them to Someplace Safe. And build an inheritance for your loved ones from other assets.
If you are interested, contact your retirement plan administrator for additional questions or a change of beneficiary form.
