Labor Trafficking
Someplace Safe provides support to individuals who have experienced labor trafficking. Labor trafficking occurs when a person performs labor or services through the use of force, fraud, or coercion.
Labor trafficking includes: debt bondage, forced labor or services, involuntary child labor, or wage theft. Labor trafficking can happen anywhere and takes place in many industries, including massage parlors, traveling sales crews, factories, farms, landscaping, and restaurant work. Because it often includes threats and physical harm or deportation, people experiencing labor trafficking are often afraid to come forward.
Someplace Safe provide education to communities and professionals on what labor trafficking looks like and how survivors of this crime may be helped.
